Using Videos In Your Website

Using videos on your website will help consumers understand what they are buying or how something works. The advantage of this is that the user can vividly see what your product or service is about and they don't have to use their own imagination. The next few paragraphs will discuss about this.

You have certainly three options. The first option is to upload your video into a site like YouTube then copy the embed code and place it on our web site or blog. You can find a button under each YouTube video that says, "Embed video," click on the button to bring up a menu that has the embed HTML code. Copy this code and paste it on the source codes of your site. There are also some sizing options below the video window with the default size at 560 x 340. There are also options like changing the skin of the video player; you can make it go with the design of your site although the skins are limited.

The advantage of using video hosts like YouTube is "it's so easy to do" as long as you have an account. Another thing is that it is for free so you don't have to fret about getting a large bandwidth bill in case your video is viewed by a lot of users. YouTube also has the broadest search engine next to Google which means your video can be found easily. This will eventually draw more people to your site. The downside of using this video host is the design limitation and the link. They do not only draw traffic to your site but also from it. Users have the option of viewing the video on YouTube.

Another alternative is to utilize an open-source flash player. You can download this from the Internet at no cost and add it to your site's code. This player can run any video you choose. You can find these downloadable players from a large number of sites. The good thing about them is you can easily change the skins to match your site design. Of course, you have to pay for the bandwidth costs yourself.

Your last option would be to employ the services of a company that produces video. They can make your video as well as host it. The video player would be sure to match the branding and design of your site. This is the best option you have but the downside is the cost. With professional design comes expensive fees but you can be assured that it is all worth it.
