Infomercial Production Note #3 - How To Get Rid Of The Dreadful Ummms & Ahhhhs When Recording

An old wife's tale has it that the reason we use umms, and ahhs, and you-knows it because we haven't quite thought through exactly what we want to say. The same tale says that's the same reason that people use curse words, because they haven't stopped long enough to think about and formulate what they REALLY want to say.

So, in place of that you get the, you-know, ummmm and so on. Know what I mean?

Well, this is one of the easiest things to conquer when you're recording because not only can you easily edit out those ugly monsters, you can prevent them from occurring in the first place by using a prepared script - either in the form of an exact script or an outline.

If you've taken the time to formulate a thorough script of what you plan to say, you're less likely to have a reason to throw in a filler like You-Know, because YOU really DO know what you want to say.

Besides planning a good script, the next thing you want to do is to read it aloud to yourself - several times. Don't worry about sounding silly. Just try it. Because it works!

The reason it works is because it prepares you for "what's coming next" when you're reading your script. Sure, it's a bit of a hassle. But I'm sure you'll agree that re-recording a track fouled by umm's and ahh's takes a lot more time and effort than doing it right in the first place!

Fast Audio Streaming - Dealing with Audio Streaming in 1-2-3 Steps

Have you heard the latest craze on the net? Have you been one of the million net users who have been hooked up with this new technology called audio streaming? Well, if you have not heard about this yet, then you must be engaging on a more Jurassic internet technology. Audio streaming is the fusion of streamed sounds with your internet. Of course, this may be one technology that is demography based, but it generally makes the site more lively and entertaining. Below are some of the ways on how you can deal with audio streaming on your website:

a. Remember that audio streaming is a matter of choice. As such, it is not mandated that you put basically all your streamed audio files on every corner of your site. You need to make sure that what you embed on your site should generally be appealing to all potential visitors. Make use of your wise judgment and your critical taste in choosing the best audio files to inject on your website that will fit the needs and requirement of your potential site visitors.

b. You need to make sure that you place strategically the audio file on your site. There will be times that the presence of the streaming audio does not at all help the site that it becomes more of a nuisance and an irritant in the perception of the net users. Place these audio files on a few section of your site to test its presence.

c. You can send audio e-cards to people who visited your site especially those who particularly liked the audio streaming that you have placed on your site. This is more of building a business rather than personal relationship with your potential visitors. A strategy that works in general.
